  • (1888PressRelease) July 11, 2011 - PHOENIX, AZ - The Bra Recyclers, a Gilbert, AZ based textile recycling company, report successful global expansion effort into Malaysia. Joanne Khoo and XIXILI, a lingerie company, have created a bra recycling project in Malaysia based on the principles and practices of The Bra Recyclers. Bra Recycling Project Director Khoo reports widespread success in the overseas effort to provide recycled bras to women in need globally.

According to Khoo, "we have been receiving plenty of emails and Facebook comments from the public that this campaign is very meaningful and requests that we do it as a continuous program". As a result, in September, XIXILI boutiques throughout Malaysia will become year round bra recycling collection centers in the Southeast Asian country. The program plans to partner with the Women Welfare Ministry at a future date. This success makes XIXILI's Bra Recycling Project the first overseas success in the global quest to bring the benefits of bra recycling to women in need across the globe.

The Bra Recyclers CEO and Founder, Elaine Birks-Mitchell, reports excitement about the global spread of bra recycling. "This success in Malaysia provides and opportunity to increase awareness and reduce the number of textile waste entering landfills on a global scale. Women in need in Malaysia are also able to benefit directly from this Go-Green campaign by receiving a simple lingerie staple that holds so much meaning. Our success with XIXILI in Malaysia demonstrates our ability to make bra recycling a global BRA-volution!"

The Bra Recyclers currently support 33 organizations across the globe. Recently, The Bra Recyclers provided these simple encouragements to victims of Joplin, Missouri's devastating May tornado. The Bra Recyclers plan to continue the momentum with the launch of a Bra Recycling Network recycling program, as well in October with their annual Bra Recycling Month bra recycling campaign.
