  • (1888PressRelease) June 20, 2012 - Our agency continues to grow and serve more children and families," said executive director Holly Towers. "This is the 3rd year that we have held this family friendly event to raise awareness for the need for foster and adoptive families, as well as to raise money for our adoption and foster care programs.

The event, which started at 6:30 p.m., offered children's activities, entertainment by Spaghetti Eddie and a cook out. The agency hosted over 250 participants and volunteers on Friday evening.

"The event was originally scheduled for May, but had to be postponed due to severe weather," Towers said. "May is National Foster Care Month. People often wonder how they can be involved in making a difference in the lives of children in foster care. Through this event, people can partner with our organization to make a difference for some of these children, as well as babies in need of adoptive homes," Towers said.

The Tot Trot has raised almost $35,000 over the past three years. Christian Services of Oklahoma will hold the 4th Annual Tot Trot in 2012.

According to Towers, Christian Services is in need of volunteers for the 2013 Tot Trot planning committee, as well as corporate and team sponsors for the event. Interested individuals or groups are encouraged to call Angie Ricketts, Marketing and Development Coordinator at 405.216.5240 or send an e-mail to angie ( @ ) christian-adoption dot org.
