As a result of Thailand’s Test and Go program beginning in November of 2021, THAI reported an average daily passenger increase from just 311 in October, to 2,559 in December. The positive growth was also experienced by subsidiary THAI Smile Airways, who experienced an average daily passenger increase from 2,623 in September to 9,536 in December, 2021.

Though the Thai Government had temporarily cancelled the Test and Go Program on 21 December 2021 as the COVID-19 Omicron variant spread through the country, fully vaccinated travelers to Thailand from any country can again enter Thailand without quarantine requirements through the updated Test and Go program.

Travel demand is again recovering as the Test and Go program has resumed, along with the border reopening in Germany, England, Sweden, Denmark, Australia, Nepal, and more. THAI has announced in the operational performance results report that flight frequency to London, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Zurich, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur will be increased. Similarly, THAI Smile has announced an increase in domestic flights throughout Thailand.
