  • (1888PressRelease) April 27, 2011 - As the British public gears up for another busy summer of tennis, employees at TENNIStogether in Milford have their tennis racquets and balls at the ready. Attempting to break the Guinness World Record™ for the greatest number of people simultaneously bouncing tennis balls on racquets.

    At 1.30pm on Sunday 8th May, staff at the Milford based centre, grounds of Rodborough school, Petworth Road, will be joining forces with local charity 'Shooting Star CHASE', to welcome all who wish to take part in the attempt and break the current record of 383 people bouncing balls! The indoor centre offers fun, safe, affordable junior coaching for three to 14 year olds, as well as adult group and individual lessons and court bookings.
    Sandra Timmermanns, sales & service manager, TENNIStogether said; "We will need lots of support from the local community to break this record and raise some welcome funds for Shooting Star CHASE.     Senior Community Fundraiser Melanie Hill, from Shooting Star CHASE hospice care for children and teenagers, said: "We're really pleased that TENNIStogether have chosen to support Shooting Star CHASE with their exciting world record challenge. We hope that the afternoon is a real success and that the local community gets behind the event to beat the world record and raise funds for Shooting Star CHASE whilst enjoying a fabulous afternoon of fun and entertainment."

    The current record was set in Oldham in 2006 and has remained unbeaten ever since.
