  • (1888PressRelease) August 27, 2010 - SAN DIEGO - Technology Integration Group (TIG), the premier IT systems integrator with locations throughout the US and in Asia, today announced that the company has been named to the inaugural Diverse 100 list by Everything Channel's CRN Magazine. The list, created by the Everything Channel editorial and research team, focuses on solution provider organizations that have a founder, CEO or president that is a member of a recognized minority group. The Diverse 100 are ranked by revenue and include women, disabled individuals, veterans and Americans of Asian, African and Hispanic decent.

CRN decided to present this information this year as a service to its readership. Often, government contractors are required to use minority-owned suppliers for a portion of a particular contract. Identifying minority-run solution providers offers those contractors a ready reference. In addition, it allows the entire readership to familiarize themselves with companies they may be unaware of, and with which they may be able to partner.

Highly involved in diversity councils around the US, TIG is a affiliated with 14 regional National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) chapters, and is a Corporate PlusŪ member of the NMSDC. Corporate Plus is a membership program for the highest caliber minority business enterprises which have the proven capacity to handle national contracts for major corporations. Of over 16,000 NMSDC certified minority businesses, less than 100 have achieved Corporate Plus member designation.

In addition to having a diversity program and a full-time diversity manager on staff at TIG, the company maintains a formal, written plan which aids in achieving a significant degree of minority and female representation at all levels. The company also has a business mentoring program which helps other small minority owned businesses to grow and realize success.

"We are pleased to be named to the inaugural Diverse 100 list by CRN Magazine," said Bruce Geier, TIG President and CEO. "Diversity is a core value at TIG, and we are committed to creating an environment where diversity will flourish not only within our own company, but in those organizations with which we do business."

"CRN recognizes that successful organizations embrace diversity. A philosophy of inclusion is good for companies and for the industry at large. With this inaugural project we will highlight the benefits and best practices VARs can glean from creating a diverse workforce and showcase some of the leading minority-led solution providers in the market today," said Kelley Damore, VP, Editorial Director, Everything Channel.

A special feature on the Diverse 100 is in the August issue of CRN Magazine and expanded coverage will be featured online at www.crn.com.
