Tata Motors October sales grow by 6%

    Commercial Vehicles
    The company's sales of commercial vehicles in October 2012 in the domestic market were 47,026 nos., a 21% growth, compared to 38,713 vehicles, sold in October last year. LCV sales were 34,905 nos., a growth of 59%, compared to 21,890 vehicles sold in October last year. M&HCV sales stood at 12,121 nos., lower by 28%, compared to 16,823 vehicles sold in October last year.

    Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal were 298,532 nos., a growth of 6% over last year. Cumulative LCV sales were 208,715 nos., a growth of 24% over last year, while M&HCV sales stood at 89,817 nos., lower by 21%, over last year.

    Passenger Vehicles
    Sales of passenger vehicles for October 2012 were at 21,119 nos., lower by 16%, over 25,124 nos., sold in October last year. There has been encouraging response to the Tata Manza Club Class, now available across the country, and the Tata Safari Storme, now available in the NCR region, Chandigarh and Lucknow. Sales of the Tata Nano were 4,004 nos., higher by 4%, compared to 3,868 nos., sold in October last year. The Indica range sales were 6,692 nos., lower by 38%, over 10,812 nos., sold in October last year. The Indigo range recorded sales of 5,748 nos., lower by 8%, over 6,268 nos., sold in October last year. The Sumo/ Safari/ Aria/ Venture range sales were 4,675 nos., higher by 12%, over 4,176 nos., sold in October last year.

    Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles were 151,761 nos., higher by 1%, compared to 150,572 nos., sold till October last year. Cumulative sales of the Nano were at 43,627 nos., higher by 31%, over 33,245 nos., sold till October last year. Cumulative sales of the Indica range were at 48,783 nos., lower by 6%, over last year. Cumulative sales of the Indigo family were 29,623 nos., lower by 23%, over last year. Cumulative sales of the Sumo/Safari/ Aria/ Venture range were 29,728 nos., higher by 11%, over last year.

    Exports
    The company's sales from exports at 3,626 vehicles in October 2012 were lower by 13%, compared to 4,171 vehicles, in October last year. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal were 31,375 nos., lower by 11%, over 35,249 nos., sold in the same period last year.
