TABPI announces 2019 Tabbie Awards winners

  • Cleveland-Lorain-Elyria, OH (1888PressRelease) July 16, 2019 - Trade, Association and Business Publications International (TABPI) is pleased to announce the 2019 Tabbie Awards. The competition featured nearly 400 entries, with nominations coming from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, the U.K., and the U.S.

    Highlighting the Best Single Issue category — the competition’s most comprehensive — are entries from New Zealand Doctor, Dartmouth Alumni Magazine, and Baking Business, which took home Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards respectively. The Top 25 of the Best Single Issue category includes ACC Docket, EDUCAUSE REVIEW, Employment Today, HR Magazine, Human Resources Director, Infectious Disease Special Edition, INSTORE, It is Innovation (i3), Police Journal, restaurant development + design, The Surveyor, and Wood Design & Building.

    Gold design award winners are INVISION for Feature Design; Champion for Front Cover, Digital Imagery; Fleet Maintenance for Front Cover, Illustration; Master Photographers for Front Cover, Photograph; E&T for Front Cover, Special Issue; and Pizza Today for Opening Page or Spread.

    Gold editorial award winners are Professionally Speaking for Department; EXHIBITOR for Editor’s Column, Focus/Profile Article and Regular Column; Champion for Feature Article; Education Canada for How-To Article; MEAT+POULTRY for Special Section; and The O&P EDGE for Technical Article.

    Golds in the three online award categories are Pizza Today for Best B2B Website and Best Use of Social Media; and HR Daily for E-Newsletter.

    Publications that earned four or more awards are Champion, E&T, EXHIBITOR, Pizza Today and Professionally Speaking.

    Paul J. Heney, president of TABPI, sponsor of the Tabbies, said that this year’s entries serve as proof of the enduring power of B2B journalism.

    “Each year we see the variety of subjects being tackled by B2B publications participating in our program. What always astounds me is the remarkable quality of the stories and images submitted each year by these print and online titles,” Heney said. “Despite unremitting change in our industry, the one constant is that quality B2B journalism is thriving.     Complete results, along with selected comments from the judges and samples of the winning entries, are available below. TABPI’s 16th-year editorial and design competition was open to English-language B2B publications worldwide that are published at least three times a year. Up to three top winners in each category will receive plaques, and certificates will be sent to additional finalists.
