  • (1888PressRelease) March 03, 2012 - San Francisco-based software development firm Synaptic Stuff presents Pocket Jamz Piano Notes, a beautifully rendered, feature rich, score reader/player that allows piano enthusiasts to learn, practice, or play music using their iPhone and iPad.

Pocket Jamz Piano Notes is a powerful learning and reference tool, optimized for small screen devices; it allows users to set loop points, change tempo and select their song's difficulty level to help them take their piano skills to the next level.

"Mobile devices have become the Swiss army knife of musicians' tools, and next generation smart phones and tablet devices seemed to be good fits for digital sheet music," says David Foote, a founder at Synaptic Stuff. "Translating music notation to digital unlocks a whole new set of valuable benefits: audio playback, sound input, adjustable tempo, intelligent detection of time signature, context sensitive help, instructional videos, switching tracks for multiple instruments, scores or music notation representation, and more. It's not just about portability and convenience, it's clear that mobile devices serve better music than traditional paper notation."

Synaptic Stuff, working with Alfred Music Publishing and Sony Music, provides fully authorized versions of songs by popular artists. The Pocket Jamz in-app song store includes multiple music types arranged and encoded exactly the way the artist intended for them to be played. All songs include lyrics and effects notations, many also include multiple tracks for supporting instruments. Adding songs to the song library is easy with affordable selections starting at $0.49. Free piano scores found online are often incomplete or incorrect. Users can select songs based on their level of ability, from beginner to expert arrangements. Additionally, Pocket Jamz provides users the ability to download and upload thousands of free scores into the song library directly from the internet or their computer.

Pocket Jamz Piano Notes joins the Pocket Jamz Guitar Tabs as the second release in a family of apps designed to take full advantage of next generation mobile and tablet devices as a music learning and reference platform.

Pocket Jamz Piano Notes v1.3 is available on the Apple App store.
