  • Providence-Fall River-Warwick, RI-MA (1888PressRelease) May 07, 2011 - Other speakers included George Bald, Commissioner of the Department of Resources and Economic Development, and Linda Hodgdon, Commissioner of the Department of Administrative Services.

The conference was attended by representatives from numerous state agencies, including the Departments of Health and Human Services, Transportation, Safety, Information Technology, the Bureau of Plant and Property, the Bureau of Public Works, University of New Hampshire, the Community College System of New Hampshire, as well as numerous New Hampshire municipalities.

Over 150 conference attendees, representing a wide array of business vendors, were present and given the opportunity to meet with purchasers from a broad array of government purchasing agencies to learn about opportunities to do business with state and local governments.

Hinckley, Allen & Snyder Attorney Suzan Lehmann, who previously acted as counsel to many of the state purchasing agents during her 17 years as a Senior Assistant Attorney General, provided her expert insights on the unique challenges and opportunities of doing business with the state. "I was pleased to be able to work closely with the professional procurement staffs of both the Department of Resources and Economic Development and the Department of Administrative Services to organize this conference. By establishing and improving the lines of communication between state government and the vendors who sell to the State, we can achieve a 'win-win' outcome that benefits everyone," Lehmann said.

Special thanks and recognition go to Leslie Mason of the Department of Information Technology, Michael Connor of the Department of Administrative Services, and David Pease of the Department of Resources & Economic Development for planning the conference.
