  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) May 13, 2016 - Susana Cecilia Taratuty's art is changeable and far-ranging in method, in medium, and in subject matter. She produces landscapes, still lifes, and abstracts, and even within her abstracts, Taratuty's interests change from studies in color to texture to materiality. She uses oil, acrylic, ink, and mixed media depending on both the effect she wants and the element she wants to investigate.

Taratuty paints dreamy landscapes that favor sweeping lines over detail. Her vistas are deep and dramatic, including vibrantly colored plains and mountain ranges stretching into the distance. When she focuses on a more compact area for her small-scale pieces, the textures become even more precise while the palette loses none of its playfulness. This quality carries over in a big way to Taratuty's abstract works, which feature highly concentrated compositions and colors so full of energy that they seem to glow.

Taratuty was born in Cordoba, Argentina and today lives in San Isidro outside of Buenos Aires. Her works have been sold in such diverse places as New Zealand, France, England, Brazil, the United States, and her home country of Argentina.
