  • (1888PressRelease) February 13, 2017 - In 1998, I, Chitunda Tillman Sr, lived an experience in which my child was ill facing death with a heart condition and I had no warning of it at the time. I didn't have insurance to pay for the emergency surgery. In order to deal with the pain, I wrote a screenplay to inspire those similarly situated. At the end of the day, I realized that I had something valuable so I copyrighted it as the creative spark. The actual copyright date was July 2, 1998, my copyright number is PAU 2-322-799 titled Kharisma Heart of Gold. This legal Document gave me proof of Originality and exclusive ownership of the valid United States Copyright and all its contents therein.

Shortly after I lived and wrote about the heart situation, I then became a member of the Writers Guild of America West (WGA). The WGA advised me to send in my scripts and payments to secure membership because they said that "no one" in Hollywood would purchase my script unless they sanctioned it or unless it was registered with them first. Well, I copyrighted my screenplay KHOG or © Kharisma Heart of Gold in 1998 first, then registered it with the WGA West 2nd. The entire year of 1998 we spoke over the phone. I said I wanted Denzel Washington or Cuba Gooding Jr. to play the lead.

Between the years 1998-2002 nothing happened for me. Meanwhile, the WGA West had my screenplay in their possession in 1998. Between the years 2002-2003 I went to the $1 dollar show on 87th & Harlem in IL. I saw John Q starring Denzel Washington for the first time. I was in shock and awe when I saw the film; I was literally quoting the dialogue and knew what the events were going to be in the film etc. I knew my life's work regardless of the fact Newline Cinema attempted to mask the identity of the true owner to movie-goers, myself included, by picking apart what I had originally written, then putting it back together and reselling and repackaging it (Judges blamed the victim).

I researched the surrounding events of the case and uncovered that a white man named James Kearns got credit for the blockbuster Film John Q starring Denzel Washington and that Kearns received © credit for writing a film about an all-black family when it was supposed to be original to him as the owner of the copyright.

Even more alarming was his actual copyright stating that John Q was created in the year 2000 under copyright # Pau-2-498-182. Yet in court, the Defendants never produced the original copyright for John Q when KHOG was created first and copyrighted first in 1998. John Q was created and filed second in 2000 based on my original expressions; words that I wrote down based on my life's original story idea. I choose Denzel Washington to play the lead; he benefited $ off my pain and suffering does he even care?

I have prior creation. Further, my film ©KHOG was also at the WGA west office where James Kearns worked. The theft of my screenplay wasn't by accident but a more calculated effort. I proceeded like any other U S citizen would have. Not to cause delay or hardship on the opposing party but to seek justice till the very end as a Strong Natural Man.

The US Supreme District and Appeals Courts aided the defendants, so naturally, I filed a complaint with the FBI in 2010 (Complaint Ref # 200919529) and I also filed a complaint with the Dept of Justice, for what it's worth and even if the F.B.I offers protection for Elites; …The Defendants knew full well that the script KHOG had a © symbol on it, but they copied it anyway, which proves willful infringement.

Besides, Time Warner should have known I would be coming for them; to take back what was rightfully mine.
