  • Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) October 20, 2011 - After over a year of waiting, Stevie Nicks fans finally will have the most authentic and original tribute to their rock and roll gypsy, when White Winged Dove hits the stage, opening their Epic Tour, this Saturday, October 22. The nationwide tour kicks off at a benefit festival in beautiful Mableton, GA. at the Mable Walker House ampitheatre.

This huge stage has hosted many international acts, including Kenny Loggins, (Jefferson) Starship, Smokey Robinson, Survivor, and many more.

The 6 piece band stems from its founder, Barbara Joy's, love of Stevie Nicks, and her music. Barbara has been a fan and collector of Nicks since the 1980s. In listening to all the rare demo recordings, watching all the outtake and concert videos, Barbara loves Stevie's style and music so much, it just came naturally to "sing along" and dress up in dripping chiffon, velvets and lace. She began tribute shows in the 1990s, called "Stevie Nicks Illusions", which took her all over the USA, from CA to TX, NY and everywhere in between, live vocals with studio created musical tracks.

She met up with Larry Johnson in July 2010, and they embarked on finding the perfect professional musicians to start up a full band tribute. Barbara named the band White Winged Dove, after Stevie's huge solo hit, "Edge Of Seventeen (just like the white winged dove)" the third single off her very successful 1st release, "Bella Donna" (which means beautiful woman). Released in 1981, songs from this amazing release are incredibly re-created by Barbara and White Winged Dove, as well as Fleetwood Mac hits like "Sara", "Gypsy" and many more. One thing that this tribute presents, that no other Nicks/Mac tribute dare to bring out, are "deeper" LP cuts, so not only will you hear your favourite "hits" when you see this full stage production, but you will be overjoyed to know that other songs like "Wild Heart", "Rock A Little", "Straight Back", "Sable On Blond" and many other "die hard fan" favs will be presented live by this incredible band! Songs that Miss Nicks herself doesn't even bring out live, White Winged Dove brings it!

The Mableton Rocks festival presents 8 bands, all playing to benefit the charity.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Amateur Advocate Association. The non-profit organization offers services for at-risk youth, provides funding to organizations which further the development of our local communities, and supports programs encouraging civic involvement.

White Winged Dove kicks of their Epic Tour @ 7:30. This is something that Nicks fans will not want to miss. To quote Miss Nicks @ her Red Rocks concert..."THIS is SERIOUS"....You have never seen anything like White Winged Dove.
