The CFO Awards honor outstanding individuals who exemplify excellence as corporate financial stewards.

Serving as CFO of Paragon since 2005, Crouse manages all financial aspects of the bank including the investment portfolio and the wholesale funding. Prior to the 2008 economic downturn, Crouse helped Paragon to reposition the portfolios he was managing to strategically position the bank to now take advantage of the improving economy. His leadership abilities extend beyond the workplace, as he volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America, Junior Achievement of Eastern North Carolina, and The First Tee of the Triangle.

Crouse, along with 12 other award winners, was honored at an awards luncheon in July at the Raleigh Marriott City Center.

"We are honored to have Steve recognized by Triangle Business Journal as CFO of the Year," said Bob Hatley, Paragon CEO and president. "He is a valuable asset to our bank and we are happy to have his efforts as CFO publicly recognized. Steve's expertise and experience in the financial sector have had a great impact on Paragon."

"It is a great honor to be recognized as a CFO of the Year award winner," said Crouse. "I am grateful to be standing alongside the many deserving award recipients. I am dedicated to continuing Paragon's success as it grows."
