  • (1888PressRelease) March 04, 2011 - Korea's SsangYong Motor Company - soon to be part of the Mahindra Group - recently showcased the SUT 1 Concept at the Geneva Motor Show 2011. The Concept, which aims to be the world's best pick-up truck, is an evolution of the Actyon Sports model and has been developed in the spirit of SsangYong Motor's design philosophy of "premium, robust, specialty."

The SUT 1 concept adds a modern style to the original pick-up design. With its spacious interior, sharp lines and cutting-edge lamp detail, this dynamic, robust and trendy sports utility truck is perfect for camping and ski trips, transportation or driving around town. With the SUT 1 Concept, SsangYong showcases its strength in supplying body-on-frame cars.

    Eco-friendly new power train

SsangYong's engineering team has developed the FR 2.0 Active Diesel Engine in the SUT 1 concept. This eco-friendly diesel engine is available with six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearboxes and two-wheel or four-wheel drive transmissions. The six-speed automatic transmission has a wide range of gear ratios, providing strong power at low speeds and low engine rpms at high speeds.

Both safety and convenience have been enhanced by including a variety of convenient features such as a sunroof, Bluetooth Audio, rear-view camera, hinge spring type tailgate and a trip computer. Safety features such as ESP and dual airbags are also included. To meet the eco-friendly and high efficiency standards expected by today's auto industry, our FR 2.0 Active Diesel engine, which satisfies Euro 5 emissions standards, has better fuel efficiency and produces lower CO2 emissions. In rear-wheel-drive form with a manual transmission, it produces only 193 grams of CO2 per kilometre.

With a maximum power of 155 PS and maximum torque of 360 Nm at 1,500-2,800 rpm, its low end torque of 190 Nm is good enough to challenge the best in class.
