Son of Extreme Political Activist Looks to Write History

  • (1888PressRelease) October 13, 2016 - Joshua Melville, the son of extreme political activist Sam Melville, the leader of the Attica uprising and the man who used strategic but violent measures to protest corporations that made money off the Vietnam war, looks to challenge and expand history, books and upcoming Hollywood interpretation of facts. Melville looks to crowd-sourcing for help to complete investigations and publish his book.

A previous book of Sam Melville's correspondence, Letters from Attica, was published posthumously (and is still used by educators of prison reform); memorials were set up in his honor; noted leftist lawyer William Kunstler delivered his eulogy; Black Panthers guarded his remains at a three day memorial; children were named after him. But none of this gives a full picture of Melville's life, a look at how his actions affected his family, or digs into government culpability.

American Timebomb is a project to uncover the truth about a man who challenged the establishment and was assassinated. It looks at Sam Melville's motivation for his bombing of over eight corporations profiting off the Vietnam War. His son's goal was to answer a simple question which in light of recent terrorist attacks by US citizens is very compelling:
What cold turn a simple man, a father, poet and musician…into a bomber?

Joshua Melville will be available starting October 3rd to speak or appear as a guest and discuss these important and compelling points:
    • What's missing in other books or forthcoming Hollywood scripts that make this book important to publish?
    • What is the incentive for people not related to Sam Melville to invest in this story?
    • Tell us about your experience in crowd-funding your book and why you took that route to publish.
    • What is the fundamental difference between radicalism of the past and terrorism of present day?
    • How do the children of radicals and terrorists suffer for their parents' choices?

Please contact us to schedule an interview or for any additional questions. Also visit www.SamMelville.org for a bio of the radical that historian and best-selling author Bryan Burrough called ,"the essential blueprint for almost every radical organization throughout the 1970s."
