    The second social media conference for law enforcement professionals will take place January 10-12, 2011, at the RAND Center in Santa Monica, California. Building on the success of the first Social Media the Internet and Law Enforcement conference (The SMILE Conference™) LAwS Communications will be the event producer. Law enforcement professionals will be equipped with all the technical hands-on skills and the practical knowledge to enter the social media world with confidence, or to polish up their own techniques through peer and interpersonal technology interaction.

    "Given the success of the inaugural SMILE Conference and broad international support, this follow-on event will further reinforce the need for departments to proactively take the lead in their community efforts. The conference is unique in its ability to bring together a widely respected gathering of law enforcement professionals," stated conference organizer, Lauri Stevens.     Speakers:
    The speaker line-up of social media law enforcement professionals is just starting to take shape. The SMILE Conference international panel of experts will lead delegates through three days of in-depth social media education specific to the law enforcement professional. Training sessions will happen each morning and followed by three days of plenary sessions for topics: Community Engagement and Investigations making up the first two days, with the third day covering such topics as Information Management, Security and Interoperability.
