Major projects like Population Register/National ID card, if and when implemented on full scale, would be the largest project on Earth. Projects like Voter ID Card, PAN Card, initiated, funded and implemented by the Central Government but currently not on Smart cards, can also be easily integrated on a Multiapplication smart card. There are a number of Financial and Banking applications being introduced on smart card.

A number of projects, based on RFID and Biometrics technologies, like Unique Identification, Tolling, Automotive RFID applications, Number plates and many others introduced recently, have potential to become huge projects.
