There were more than fifteen international teams participating in the balloon festival including Team India led by the Skywaltz group. The festival followed an interesting itinerary that allowed the teams to explore the Golden Triangle. The detailed schedule of the itinerary is available at www.pushkarballoonfestival.com.
Leo Burman, the pilot of the Canadian team shared his thoughts of being to India, "I found India a really exotic place with a very colorful culture. The Pushkar was a gorgeous place to float above in the balloons. I can always call it as a really unique experience".

Commenting on his association with the Pushkar Camel Fair, Samit Garg, CEO, SkyWaltz said: "We approached the Rajasthan Tourism Board with the unique concept of holding a balloon festival within the Pushkar fair to add a new dimension to the event. Thus, post a tender process; we were awarded the mandate to manage the balloon festival. The balloon flight took place twice on each day. As new initiatives, this year we had musical infusions at the balloon flights and special night glow balloons. On the last day, we lit 1,000 sky lanterns and set them free in the air."

He further added: "Since we had organized a series of balloon safaris, we have been able to generate a lot of enthusiasm amongst balloon pilots across the world. Out of the 40 entries we received, we managed to shortlist 20 pilots to be part of the Pushkar Balloon Festival 2011."

Having received the National Award from the Government of India in 2010 for the most innovative tourism project, Skywaltz is set to expand its operations from Rajasthan to other Indian states such as Gujarat and Maharashtra.
The event saw a huge influx of tourists to Pushkar during the fair and seized a sizable share of coverage in all the major media channels. Those who have attended the unique event in the land of innumerable festivals ensured that they experienced an unforgettable hot air balloon flight trip.
