- (1888PressRelease) April 13, 2011 - Located some 80ft below the non-descript guard house at RAF Holmpton, is the underground Command Bunker; This event is not for the faint hearted. Two massive floors covering almost 35,000sq ft are there waiting for us to explore and investigate on our ghost night at this event. For years this place has remained a secret even in the local area, where most people simply did not know of the existence or purpose of such a substantial facility. Just one or two of them may have worked here but even today they 'cannot' tell their story.
RAF Holmpton was once known as RAF Patrington serving the forces since World War2. It was during the 1940's that plans came to light for a new radar system to be installed at various sites, RAF Patrington being one of them.
