  • (1888PressRelease) December 06, 2012 - LONG BEACH, CA - Perkowitz+Ruth Architects (P+R) announces that President and Chief Executive Officer Simon Perkowitz, AIA, PE, is stepping down from his corporate duties effective December 1, 2012. He will continue to be involved with the firm, focusing his time on P+R's litigation support practice, risk management and business development.

    Since co-founding the firm in 1979, Perkowitz' commitment to quality and service has shaped the international architectural firm into the vibrant and successful practice it is today. Over the course of 33-plus years, his industry-wide expertise has been invaluable to the successful planning and design of thousands of built projects on behalf of numerous clients. During his tenure he has led nearly every aspect of the firm's award-winning practice.

    "I feel great pride that we have built a firm of great integrity over the years," said Perkowitz. "While my years at P+R have been extremely rewarding, I have decided that it is time for me to take a step back and allow the next generation of leadership to emerge.

    P+R is five years into a leadership transition plan intended to shape the firm's future. In this transition, and with the full support of the Board of Directors, co-founder and current Executive Vice President Steve Ruth, AIA, assumes the role of President & CEO. Senior Principal Brian Wolfe has been named Board Secretary, a role previously held by Ruth. Associate Principal Brad Williams has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer and will assume many of Ruth's former corporate responsibilities.
