  • (1888PressRelease) October 28, 2010 - IRVINE, CA - SilverPlus™ Inc. (www.gosilverplus.com) today announced the launch of SilverCare™, the world's first 8-in-1 Personal Daily-Living Assistant, with a number of easy to use 'one-touch' features incorporated into the product's design. This revolutionary system makes it easier for seniors to remain in their own homes. Intuitive features enable seniors to take an active role in managing and monitoring their own health and safety, with benefits far beyond those of a traditional medical alert device, and without the monthly fees or contracts which are typically associated with medical alert devices.

With advanced features seamlessly integrated into the product design, this system combines a stylish, water-resistant digital watch, in a pendant or wrist style, with a Base Console, designed to support multiple users. Each component has separate, dedicated buttons which enable the user to easily contact a 911 operator or a loved-one, for a live, two-way conversation, based on their preference and the urgency of their situation. This multifunction system also provides medication and event reminders; storage for ICE (In Case of Emergency) data, so First Responders can easily access user's blood type, allergies and current medications; a home/away button to automatically notify loved ones that the user has gone out or returned safely home; and a hands-free, call-answering feature, which facilitates conversations via the robust speaker in the Base Console.

SilverLite™, a companion product, enables the user to turn a light on and off remotely, with the touch of a button on their watch or pendant. As a promotional offering, all customers who purchase a SilverCare™ Daily-Living Assistant, with a suggested retail price of $449, will receive SilverLite™, a $50 value, at no charge.

"At SilverPlus, we are excited to lead the technology revolution to help Senior Citizens proactively and conveniently manage their own health and safety regimens at home," said Anita Greggs Perez, Senior Executive Marketing Advisor at SilverPlus. "We know seniors want to be better prepared to manage the challenges they face on a daily basis, such as falling or managing their complex medication regimens, and SilverCare empowers them in a way that no other product can. We also know that caregivers, who are often adult children that can't be there personally, experience tremendous peace of mind knowing their parents are using SilverCare in their homes."

The company is actively working on a staged product launch with regional and national pharmacies, online retailers and consumer catalogs, and will be widely available in stores in 2011. But consumers don't have to wait until their favorite pharmacy or online store stocks the product to get their own SilverCare system. Pharmacies are able to special-order SilverCare from their drug wholesalers to meet their consumers' needs, and can expect delivery to their locations within a day or two.

    SilverPlus Receives Prestigious Awards
Earlier this year SilverCare was voted as 'Best New Product' by national pharmacy directors and corporate buyers attending the 2010 ECRM Home Healthcare industry event. Competition included dozens of products introduced by major industry leaders in HME and Medical Diagnostic products.

In June, SilverPlus received another esteemed award. Among a record number of nominations, SilverCare received the 2010 High Tech Innovation Award for Hardware from TechAmerica, Orange County. (www.techamerica.org/htaoc) TechAmerica, the industry's largest advocacy group, celebrates excellence and achievements among regional technology innovators.

Medical Complications and Aging in America
Economics are driving the traditional healthcare platform to explore ways of delivering care more efficiently, and with better outcomes; while consumers are concerned about the high costs associated with emergency medical care. Many in our society suffer from chronic or acute medical conditions, have complex medication regimens, trouble remembering appointments, or suffer from health-related complications. Millions are concerned about high or low blood glucose reactions, consequences from missed medications or appointments, health complications due to falling, or even the consequences of a home invasion. Falls are particularly concerning, and can even lead to death. According to the CDC, one in every three adults age 65 and older falls every year. More than 2 million adults are treated in emergency departments for fall injuries annually, with serious injuries such as head traumas and hip fractures.1
