"Alaskan Dawn" is a novel set in the Russian Far East and the U.S. territory of Alaska at the beginning of America's entry into World War II in the Pacific. A young Russian teenager's father is a high-ranking Soviet communist official who is on a mission to meet with the U.S. government to obtain lend-lease supplies. During a Japanese raid on Dutch Harbor, both of the teen's parents are killed and Alexander is sent to the mainland of Alaska to stay with an American family until the war's end. The influence of the Hunt family has a strong impact on Alexander and he decides to defect. In his struggle to find new freedom, Alexander deals with Soviet kidnappers, a new love, and confronting his doubts about God.

John McClure, president of Signalman Publishing, stated, "This is a fast-paced drama with all the elements of intrigue, a teen being caught up in the midst of the turmoil of war, and the confusion and doubts resulting from these traumatic experiences. The author has perfectly captured the history of the period and location for the novel's backdrop. We think readers will really enjoy Alaskan Dawn."

"Alaskan Dawn" (ISBN: 978-1-935991-79-3, $13.99, Fiction) from Signalman, is available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble.com, and wherever fine books are sold.
