  • (1888PressRelease) May 07, 2022 - The program was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. Rakesh Ranjan, Vice-Chancellor of Himgiriji University, and Dr. Ramkaran Singh, Vice-Chancellor of ICFAI University. The Guest of Honor, Dr. S.P. Srivastava, Advisor of Shivalik College, and Dr. Prahlad Singh, Director of Shivalik College, jointly lit the lamp with the Principal of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Ganesh Bhatt.

Dr. Prahlad Singh, director of the college, welcomed all the chief guests and researchers and emphasized that the main objective of the conference is to allow all the researchers to exchange their knowledge in the field of engineering and science.

On this occasion, Dean Quality Assurance Dr. Kuldeep Panwar, Dean Student Surmadhur Pant, Registrar Rakesh Bhandari, Proctor Dr. Umesh Gupta, Mechanical Head Ajay Verma, Ashutosh Bhatt, Ayushman Srivastava, Kuldeep Godiyal Ashish Gupta Anand Kemwal, Kuldeep Rawat, Nikhil Kannojia, Vipin Uniyal, Shiv Singh etc. were all in attendance.

The advisor of the college, Mr. S.P. Srivastava, flagged the seminar off by expressing his views on the importance of concerted research activities. Scientists create a research question and then undertake a thorough search of existing literature on the subject before carefully planning their methods to test the research question. The results may not be reliable and the conclusions may be unjustified if a solid methodology is not used. For example, they must construct control trials in which all variables other than the one under investigation are held constant.

The integration of online and offline media of communication made it possible for an international speaker to be invited to the college. Prof. Konologo Sarge, Head of the Department of Metal Engineering, Samara National Research University, Russia, gave detailed information to the researchers on engineering materials through an online medium.

Prof. Ramkaran Singh expressed his views on Industry 4.0, and Dr. Rakesh Ranjan expressed his views on the changing nature of industries through research to the researchers. Scientific research is essential for navigating our ever-changing world. We would have to rely on other people's opinions, our intuitions, and luck if we didn't have it. Because scientific knowledge is founded on real, concrete data, the systematic scientific investigation provides us with an objective understanding.

The second day of the seminar was presided over by Prof. RP Gupta, Registrar, Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun. Chief guest Prof. R.P. Gupta talked about the benefits of organizing such international seminars to the scholars and students and called for special attention to be drawn to organizing international seminars.

The two-day seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Ajay Verma, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. In the end, Seminar Secretary Prof. Shivashish Kaushik informed that over a hundred international research papers of the country and abroad were published in Scopus General, and expressed his gratitude to all participants of the seminar.

Shivalik College of Engineering is committed to facilitating a culture of research work on their college campus with intensive yet enabling academic workshops such as the Student Development Program, students are motivated to expand their horizons and creative abilities. The in-house Department of Research, Innovation, and Incubation offer mentorship, seed funding, start-up meetups, and IPR & patent support to entrepreneurs and managers. Students from various departments in attendance at the two-day seminar applauded the workshop for the quality of content delivered in the seminar and wished for more such programs to be organized in future.
