  • (1888PressRelease) November 01, 2013 - The Shared Services & Outsourcing Network (SSON) recently launched its redesigned website at www.ssonetwork.com, kicking off a 3-month promotional campaign with a new 'Tools & Templates' section and several contributors for the global information-sharing and networking platform.

The website, the culmination of 6 months of research with practitioners, research analysts and solution-providers within shared services and outsourcing, features an improved design, mobile-responsive viewing and a new navigation system to allow search by function, SSC maturity, vertical and media.

"SSON gives us access to a global audience who are interested in the same things we are," said Chris Ling, Finance Director, British Gas after working with SSON on an online webinar. "It was excellent working with the SSON team. There was great communication, good work and professionalism - all around."

The 'Tools & Templates' section houses an exclusive selection of kits to help design, manage, measure and benchmark support services, and caters to different functions. Tools are currently available for Governance, Risk Analysis and Supply Chain Management. Complementing this, the website posts tips, articles, interviews and industry reports for shared services and outsourcing professionals from functions that include Finance, HR, IT, Procurement, and a growing range of emerging front-facing functions.

To balance SSON's editorial pieces with first-hand experience and personality, SSON works with industry experts including long-time contributors Deborah Kops, who writes with eloquent humor about Sourcing Change; Ilan Oshri, Professor at Loughborough University, who reports passionately on China; Jim Scully, HR strategist, who dissects the maze of HR Technology; Anupam Diwan, who unravels the knots in data analytics; and Simon Brown, from NCR Corporation, who tackles leadership.

The newest contributors - all of whom boast strong legacies in the industry - include Paul Nicolaisen, VP Global Shared Services, Becton Dickinson, and Ayman Khairy Hafez, Service Delivery Manager, Qatar Foundation.

For those of you wondering what makes these contributors stand apart: when asked about his "greatest achievement" during his 20 years in shared services, Nicolaisen responded, "Building a new, multi-functional GBS organization from the ground up in two years - we moved 1,497 processes from 65 locations across 4 continents, that have resulted in run-rate savings of over $14M thus far."

With metrics like that, how can readers not pay attention?

Basic membership is free and available at www.ssonetwork.com. SSONetwork.com offers members discounted rates to its global conferences and the SSO Pro training course, and free access to all of our online resources.
