  • (1888PressRelease) June 30, 2021 - SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, is pleased to be hosting two sessions of this live webinar on July 8, 2021, “Interpretation of Multinational RoHS Directives and International Type Approval (ITA) Service”.

Restriction of hazardous Substances (RoHS) has its roots in the European Union (EU) from 2003. The goal of RoHS is to reduce the environmental effects and health impact of electrical and electronic products by stipulating regulations to control the levels of certain hazardous substances and chemicals they contain.

The legislation's primary purpose is to make electronics manufacturing safer at every stage of a device's life cycle. Based on the EU’s RoHS, many countries have now implemented their own version of the RoHS, adding complexity for manufacturers.

Aimed at manufacturers and suppliers of electrical and electronic products, this one-hour webinar will cover key markets’ RoHS directives including the EU, China, EAEU, UAE. Arthur Zhao, SGS Tech Supervisor who is responsible for RoHS, FCMs, POPs, CP65 and China GB standards testing and compliance at SGS, will also explain how ITA can help manufacturers adapt and implement manufacturing practices and processes so they are better aligned with the regulations, for improved efficiency and to ensure compliance.
