  • Fort Collins-Loveland, CO (1888PressRelease) March 19, 2014 - Phoenix Williams, self published author of A Guardian Angel is offering a free download of his new novel for readers without spare cash. A paid version is also available through Amazon with no difference in content for readers who want to support a writer they like.

A Guardian Angel is told through four intertwining short stories that join together into a larger tale. The novel is the tale of a corporate assassin with a difficult decision to make. His journey is woven with the beginning of a second American civil war and the appearance of strange metal statues over the globe. Williams addresses the blight of greed and inequality, warning of their consequences through this dark alternative future.

Williams did not believe the format would survive in traditional publishing and decided that self-publishing would allow him freedom of content. That liberty also allows him to offer the book through his own channels and set the price, making a free download possible.

The author has little to no concern for his potential profits. "I didn't start writing to make money - I did it to make readers," Williams said. He expresses his belief that fans will pay for something they enjoy and support it if they have the money to. "Someone's economic status should not limit the culture they can imbibe. People of less means like to read just as much as the luckier of us."

Phoenix Williams has written four novels before, but never released any to the public until A Guardian Angel. Because homelessness and economic inequality are the forefront of his effort, he helps out at the Fort Collins Rescue Mission. His experience without a home and volunteering inspired a large portion of his writing. Readers can either get A Guardian Angel free or purchase it from Williams's website,
