  • Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) September 24, 2011 - Securus, Inc., title sponsor of the summit, is preparing for this week's "Proceeding in Partnership: The Future of Campus Security" summit, presented by Lehigh University and Security on Campus, Inc. In preparation for the event, Securus announced today that it plans to present one of the company's eClick personal emergency locators to all panelists as a token of appreciation for leadership across campus safety initiatives.

eClick is the premiere prevention tool for attacks and violent assaults on college campuses. It fits in a student's pocket or a purse and enables students to instantly and discreetly connect with campus police in an emergency with a press of the SOS rescue button. eClick uses GPS, Cellular Triangulation and WiFi hotspots to quickly and accurately pinpoint users' locations indoors and outdoors. Compared to dialing 911 with a cell phone, eClick sends alerts six times faster and is ten times more accurate in determining a user's location.

"We believe that one valuable tool used to help keep a campus safe is technology, and learning from participants and Security on Campus, Inc. in summits like this one will spur meaningful innovation. We are proud to be sponsoring this important summit and to meet campus security thought leaders," said Chris Newton, CEO of Securus. "We are excited to offer summit panelists our eClick GPS Locators, a product we developed with campus police and college administrators, to improve students' safety on and off college campuses."

At the summit, which takes place during National Campus Safety Awareness Month on Lehigh's Mountaintop Campus, the country's most prominent thought leaders on campus safety will come together to discuss the critical issues facing colleges and universities. Panel discussions will include sexual violence, alcohol and other drug abuse, emergency response and off-campus safety.

Securus, Inc. has recently developed a unique, comprehensive security system designed specifically to improve safety on college campuses. The system includes the eClick GPS Locator and CatchAThiefGPS, a GPS locator used by campus police across the country to catch thieves and reduce property theft.
