Depending on the season, the solar panels are able to generate 30 - 50% of the electricity needs of the facility. Adding further improvements and refinements, a whopping 90% of the total electric needs are provided by the array of solar panels," said Steve Schwartz, managing partner at Secure Self Storage.
"Secure Self Storage in Rehoboth Beach actually produces more solar energy per year than it uses, allowing us to sell the extra electricity back to the grid. We still buy some energy from the grid because unfortunately, and as we all know; the sun doesn't shine every day," Steve added.
