  • Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) April 04, 2024 - The Second Annual Taylor Brothers Memorial Walk and Golf Outing, organized by Team Taylor is set to take place on June 22nd, 2024, at Anetsberger Golf Course. This event, born out of a deep personal connection and commitment to mental health advocacy, aims to honor the memory of Glenview residents Ross Taylor and Trent Taylor while raising funds and awareness for mental health initiatives.

Ross Taylor, known for his vibrant personality and time as a football player at Glenbrook South High School, and Trent Taylor, an artist and skateboarder with a brilliant mind, both struggled with mental health issues and passed away in their 20s. In the aftermath of their passing, five lifelong friends—Quentin Egan, Frank Flynn, Jake Bell, Mark Masini, and Patrick Sebby—decided to start the Taylor Brothers Fundraiser to honor their legacy and address the mental health issues plaguing their generation.

"Mental health awareness for men in their 20s and 30s is often something that is not talked about," said Frank Flynn, Operations Officer at Team Taylor "After the grieving was over, we wanted to start a conversation and make a difference in our community."
The event, which includes a memorial walk and golf outing, is open to the public and aims to raise funds for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Cook County North Suburban (CCNS) chapter. NAMI CCNS is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. They provide support, education, and advocacy to promote recovery and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health challenges.

"NAMI CCNS offers a variety of programs and services, including support groups, educational workshops, and community outreach initiatives, all aimed at enhancing the quality of life for those impacted by mental illness," added Quentin Egan, Marketing Officer at Team Taylor. "By partnering with NAMI CCNS, Team Taylor ensures that all proceeds from the event directly benefit these vital programs and services, making a difference in the lives of those affected by mental health challenges in our community."

Last year's event raised over $20,000 for NAMI CCNS, making it one of the largest Mental Health Fundraisers in Cook County. This year, the organizers are determined to build on that success and make an even greater impact.

The Second Annual Taylor Brothers Memorial Walk and Golf Outing is not just a fundraiser but a testament to the power of community support, personal connection, and the importance of mental health awareness. It serves as a reminder that by coming together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by mental illness.
