  • (1888PressRelease) March 24, 2013 - With season-two of National Geographic's hit TV series Doomsday Preppers officially wrapped, the show has profiled and scored 50 different Preppers from across the U.S. who have prepared for a variety of disaster scenarios. The company, Practical Preppers, LLC have scored these Preppers and the leaderboard is finally completed.... So who is taking home top honors?

Topping the leader-board with the highest score of 83, Capt. William E. Simpson is the 'best prepped' with a estimated survival of 18-months! Coming in a close second are prepping partners Craig Compeau and Don Kubley, both from Alaska with a score of 82 and projected survival time of 17-months.

Capt. Simpson had believed that his skills as an expedition would allow him a decent chance for a good showing, but never anticipated this result. "I have always believed that expedition sailors were very self-reliant and well prepared for many potential situations. I am pleased and honored to be on the top of National Geographic's DoomsDay Preppers leaderboard. It might be interesting for Discovery Channel's best Prepper Bear Grylls to have an Island Survival Face-Off with National Geographic's best Prepper to find out who is the better Prepper?" said Capt. Simpson.

What may even be more interesting is that unlike many other Preppers who competed in the TV series, who had the scoring advantage provided by integrating firearms into their prepping methods, Capt. Simpson does not believe that guns are needed to be successful if a survival paradigm is well designed.
