Sahara India Pariwar Extends Financial Assistance to the residents of Pune through "Social Security Cover Scheme"

  • (1888PressRelease) September 21, 2011 - Sahara India Pariwar, a major business conglomerate of India, today under its social welfare programme of 'Social Security Cover Scheme' which provides the accidental death cover to the 17.07 lakh voters of Pune Lok Sabha constituency facilitated Mrs. Nalini Sunil Jadhav with Rupees One lakh as financial assistance.

    Under the 'Social Security Cover Scheme', in the event of accidental death of any resident of Pune district, his/her heir receives Rupees One lakh as financial assistance by Sahara India Pariwar. To obtain financial assistance under this scheme, the deceased should be a voter of Pune Lok Sabha constituency and the heir of the deceased has to inform our organization by submitting an application on a plain paper within 45 days of accidental death to any of the local office of Sahara. The other essential documents like Postmortem Report, FIR and Death Certificate, etc can be submitted later. This scheme was one of the four welfare schemes for the people of Pune which were announced by Shri Subrata Roy Sahara, 'Saharasri', Managing Worker and Chairman, Sahara India Pariwar. Besides Pune, Sahara is already providing financial assistance to the family of the deceased in case of an accidental death for the residents of Lucknow and Gorakhpur.

    On the occasion Shri A.K Dutta, Advisor - Sahara City Homes, Pune said "We cannot compensate the lives that have been lost but we can at least extend our emotional support through financial assistance, to the family of the deceased. Sahara India Pariwar assures the residents of Pune that in their joys and sorrows Sahara India Pariwar is and will always be with them."

    Sahara, under its other three welfare schemes for the people of Pune is already running 9 Mobile Healthcare Unit Vans and providing public health services to 72 villages of 6 Blocks and urban slums of Pune District. Each of these MHU vans has a qualified doctor and is equipped with primary health equipments.

    Sahara is also inviting application forms for the academic year 2011 - 2012 under the Scholarship Scheme for the Meritorious Students of Low Income Group of Pune district. This scheme will provide financial assistance to 300 students at the graduation level who will be selected on the basis of their academic record and each student will be provided Rs. 750 per month as scholarship. At the post graduation level, 200 students will be selected on their merit and each such student will be provided a monthly scholarship of Rs 1500. In all, 500 meritorious students of Pune will benefit under this scholarship scheme.     As a part of yet another welfare scheme 'Budding Sportsperson Scholarship' Sahara will provide financial support to the budding sportspersons of Pune District. Under the scheme, sportspersons playing at the state level will be given Rs 5000 per month, those playing at the National level will be given Rs. 10000 per month and those playing at the International level will be given Rs. 20,000/- per month. The sportsperson can avail the financial support by sending their application after validation from their respective sports authorities.
