RWE is interested to support Plomin III as owner´s engineer of HEP
RWE as the longstanding partner of HEP on power plant site Plomin in Istria has taken notice of the public announcement of the pre-qualification procedure to express interest to be the strategic partner of HEP in the planning, construction and operation of the new power plant unit Plomin C until September 14.
- (1888PressRelease) September 14, 2012 - RWE fullfills all pre-qualification criteria and is willing to support the project from its current position as shareholder in TE Plomin d.o.o. and under consideration of RWE’s track record and skills regarding the implementation of huge power plant projects of this kind in Europe.
Nevertheless RWE decided not to participate in the pre-qualification procedure and to be shortlisted at this stage. This decision is mainly founded by adjustments in RWE’s strategy regarding the structure of its European power plant portfolio and current capital constraints.
The company is well aware of the existing and tightening shortage in base load power production in Croatia and the potential role of a new power plant at Plomin site. In this respect RWE expressed its interest to support the project as owner’s engineer of HEP, by operation and maintenance of the plant and with regard to fuel procurement and power sales.
