  • (1888PressRelease) July 29, 2025 - Mumbai, Maharashtra - Renowned choreographer, filmmaker, and performing arts professional Nikhilesh Masram makes a thrilling digital debut with his original Marathi web series titled “Chaukat – Dark Mystery Set in Rural Village.” Set in a haunting, quiet village far from the city’s chaos, the series brings a fresh cinematic lens to regional storytelling — filled with suspense, emotion, and psychological depth.

Chaukat is a six-episode psychological thriller wrapped in a rural setting, where the stillness of the land hides more than what meets the eye. Mysterious events unfold inside a village boundary, and the series masterfully explores the blurred lines between folklore, fear, and truth without relying on typical horror tropes. The storytelling leans into a nonlinear structure, offering a fresh format rarely seen in Marathi web content.

    A Cinematic Leap into Suspense
With Chaukat, Masram delivers a layered, slow-burn mystery that weaves together silence, atmosphere, and emotional complexity. Each episode presents a different angle — not just of the story, but of the characters’ internal landscapes — making it a deep dive into how truth is perceived in isolated communities.

What makes Chaukat unique is its choice of setting: a seemingly peaceful rural village that becomes the silent witness to disturbing secrets. Rather than relying on jump scares or graphic violence, the show builds tension through mood, pacing, and cultural realism.
