  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) September 07, 2012 - On Saturday, September 15, 2012, 7pm to 10pm, the Rotary E-Club of The Greater San Fernando Valley hosts the Third Annual Dance For The Children, part of Rotary Internatinal's worldwide effort to eradicate polio forever. The event provides light snacks, dance lessons, music of all kinds for all ages, and the opportunity to ensure that thousands of children will never get polio.

This "Dance Marathon" (really an after-dinner three-hour event) sees dancers ask friends, family, neighbors, strangers, and even enemies to "sponsor" us for just ten dollars. More is gratefully accepted, of course. Ten dollars vaccinates sixteen children.

A member of the Rotary Club is a dance instructor with Arthur Murray, and teaches attendees new steps every year.

Through the kindness of major sponsors Arthur Murray Sherman Oaks and Westfield Fasion Square, and corporate sponsors Casa Vega, Barry L. Horwitz CPA, Love's Software & Computer Service, and Trader Joe's Sherman Oaks, one hundred percent of the dancers sponsorships go directly to The Rotary Foundation.
