  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) December 04, 2015 - Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley, P.C. (RMKB), a multi-service law firm offering litigation and transactional services nationally and internationally, has added Jason L. Beckerman as partner in its New York office and member of the firm's Construction, Litigation and Insurance Services practice areas. He joins the firm from Cozen O'Connor P.C.'s New York office, where he was administrative managing partner of the firm's New York General Litigation Group.

"Jason truly bolsters our construction practice. His background working with contractors and construction managers to resolve complex issues, and his track record of outstanding client results in the courtroom is impressive. We look forward to helping him expand his practice, while providing clients with complementary cross-practice resources," said Michael J. Ioannou, firm chairman.

Beckerman counsels construction industry clients on matters including contracts, crisis management and risk management. In addition, he litigates - at both the trial and appeal stage - and helps resolve through alternative dispute resolution matters involving construction accidents, construction contracts, construction fees, design defects, New York Labor Law, structural failure, premises and security, toxic exposure and other mass tort claims. Beckerman has handled more than 50 trials to date and has successfully defended clients at every level of court in New York State, as well as before the U.S. district courts for Southern and Eastern New York.

Active in the legal community, Beckerman is a frequent speaker on the New York State Labor Law - a regulation that affects the construction industry - as well as on worksite accident investigations. He has published numerous byline articles supporting Labor Law reform and has met with state legislators on numerous occasions to advocate for change. Beckerman is a member of the Brooklyn Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers Association, where he is a former chair of the Insurance Committee.

Beckerman is a graduate of the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University (J.D., 2000) and Wheaton College (B.A., 1997).
