Pete Halsey, Director of Newedge Media Group Ltd, said:
"We have been looking into the possibility of redesigning www.roomguide.co.uk since the end of 2008. We took the decision to make the investment following the growing success of Roomguide and its sister site www.budgetrooms.co.uk. Both sites provide hotels, guest houses and bed & breakfasts throughout the world and were originally launched in summer of 2007. Towards the end of last year we had managed to secure more than 60,000 hotel partners onto www.roomguide.co.uk. The original site did not have the capability or the functionality to cope with this number of hotels.

Budgetrooms was launched to filter accommodation by price, only identifying rooms on a daily basis available for £50 or less. Since the tightening of the recession on the market we have seen a significant increase in the number of customers using Budgetrooms.

The new sites have taken us over six months to develop. We decided that the time and the market were right to offer a fully integrated ‘one stop shop’ for customers looking for great hotels at great locations for a great price. We have worked tirelessly to develop the sites to provide our customers with everything that they need to make an informed decision without having to jump through hoops to secure their rooms. In today’s market customers expect more from their suppliers and we believe that the new sites will give our customers what they need. The new Roomguide & Budgetrooms web sites are made up of more than 100,000 pages of content but still only require our customers to complete three simple steps to make their bookings. All Hotels, Guest Houses and B&B’s listed on both sites can be booked and secured directly through us with a guarantee of best available rate.”
