  • West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, FL (1888PressRelease) July 03, 2013 - The international home furnishings company Roche Bobois has named Patrick Cabaroc as director of design at its new, 6,000-square-foot showroom located at 136 U.S. Highway One in North Palm Beach.

Simultaneously, Cabaroc continues as designer director at the Roche Bobois showroom in Coral Gables.

"Patrick's inherent talent, along with this vast knowledge of art, design and home furnishings, have made him an indisputable helpmate to Roche Bobois clients at our Coral Gables location. I am confident he will be equally valuable in Palm Beach," said Julien Bigan, Roche Bobois' U.S. South East general manager. "Patrick is the consummate French gentleman, well traveled and fluent in French, English and some Chinese."

For eight years before relocating to the U.S., Cabaroc was an interior designer at the Royal Gallery and Romeo along the Champs Elysées in Paris, where he designed international projects in Monaco, Belgium, Switzerland, China, Russia, the U.S. and elsewhere. Previous design positions with "Sami el Khazen" & SOGEX took him to Saudia Arabia, Kuwait and Lebanon, where he learned about Middle Eastern culture as well. Also to his credit is a design project for the King of Saudia Arabia.

Other experience includes designing upscale contemporary furniture at Redureau Création in Paris. As a designer at Christian Liaigre Consulting, Cabaroc was involved in the design, creation, prototype and manufacture of furniture for the company's new brand, CASE. He was a furniture designer at G.P. Diffusion (under the Liaigre umbrella), where he was responsible for all creation and design activities. At CTM Engineering in Montrouge, France, he designed and managed bar, restaurant and retail store projects, including producing drawings of concrete structures, which gave him a keen awareness of architecture. As an interior designer at Jean Camuset Consulting in Neuilly, France, Cabaroc designed and managed entire projects for apartments, homes and stores. Furthermore, sales positions for design projects and up-market furniture retailers placed him hands on with clients, where he became attuned to their needs and preferences.

Cabaroc earned his diploma in Art Appliquès (Decorative Arts), with an Honorable Mention, at Ecole des Arts Appliqués (School of Applied Arts) in Poitiers, France. He subsequently spent 25 years as a teacher, initially as the First Teaching Assistant to Christian Liaigre (who had taught and mentored him), and later as a professor of Interior Design and Techniques at the same school.

Sculpting in wood at the age of 12, Cabaroc also began painting with ease. With more experience, his art transitioned from classic still life into contemporary, which enabled him to convey messages on issues such as pollution, the power of money and politics, corruption, freedom and more.

From the mid-1970s through 2001, Cabaroc's award-winning painting and wood carvings were displayed at expositions and exhibitions throughout his native France. In addition, his painting [of two sports cars with drivers] became the main advertising visual for the 7ème Sport et Collection, Circuit du Val de Vienne in Le Vigeant, France, a motor racing event in 2001 benefiting a cancer hospital in Poitiers.

Producing its own exclusive furniture and accessories for the home, the Roche Bobois Paris brand was born in 1961. The company has become a worldwide symbol of fine European-made furniture, design and distribution. There are 250 Roche Bobois retail showrooms in 45 countries throughout the world, the majority of which are corporate owned. Twenty-four of the locations are situated in the U.S., with two in Florida.
