  • (1888PressRelease) April 03, 2016 - Smith, a 50 year old 1980's veteran of the Army and Navy who has had civilian PTSD since childhood, is riding a bicycle from Los Angeles to Redwoods National Park to raise awareness and money for PTSD charities.

Along the way Smith is teaching meditation and Reiki for donations as well as making PTSD and stress relief presentations to groups and organizations.

His book '3 Easy Meditation Tools that can Change Your Life!' will be available on Amazon.com in April, 2016 and 75% of the net profits are donated each month to PTSD charities.

Greg leaves Santa Monica Pier on April 7th on a bicycle headed towards the Redwoods National Park (750 miles +/-).

"I'm not really on a schedule, just heading north and doing what I can to raise money and awareness. More than 22 American soldiers commit suicide each day while trapped in the torment and agony of PTSD. It's a fact of American life that most people really don't know anything about."

More than 6,000,000 soldiers are currently on the VA's PTSD waiting list and not recieving care. Since 2001 over 6,000 American servicemen and women have been killed in American wars. At the same time over 8,000 service people per year commit suicide. Many agencies believe that the suicide statistics are severely under reported and that many more Americans are dying from PTSD than are being properly reported.

Smith is happy to take donations for charities and is also happy to accept any support offered for the Ride for PTSD project.
