Düsseldorf. Companies are willing to invest in the digital transformation of their business. This was recently shown in the results of the “Digital Change Study” done by business software provider IFS. In order to determine the digital maturity of companies, 750 decision-makers in 16 countries were asked about the digitalisation process in their companies. What came out was that nine out of ten companies said an investment in the digital transformation of their business was “appropriate” or “conducive.” The main reason put forward for this type of investment was to increase the efficiency of all internal processes. Without any doubt, digitalisation also includes devices for mobile data capture, such as scanners and handheld terminals. DENSO, part of the Toyota group and inventor of the QR Code, develops and manufactures these innovative devices for mobile data capture, and offers scanners and handheld terminals of the best quality to their customers from the fields of warehouse/storage, logistics, retail and POS, production, field & sales force automation as well as from the health sector. The DENSO specialists for mobile data capture technology are going to present their latest scanners and handheld terminals with RFID and NFC technology at the “RFID & Wireless iOT tomorrow 2017” in Düsseldorf, Germany. Another reason why RFID is more and more on the rise is the fact that RFID tags have become much lower-priced over the last few years. Hence, more and more companies are able to invest in this technology. With the mix of high-quality conference talks and the presence of international exhibitors and attendees, the “RFID & Wireless iOT tomorrow 2017” covers the entire spectrum of RFID. The main topics of the conference are digitalisation, efficiency, automation, and sustainability. The conference will be held on September 27 and 28, 2017 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The pocket-size SE1-BUB-C, the BHT-1600 in the style of a smartphone, the BHT-1200 RFID, the UR20 series, and the QK30-IC are all going to demonstrate how profitable the scanners and handheld terminals from DENSO are really for companies, especially those from the retail and logistics sector that are looking to use these types of products. “We are aware that our clients have to face numerous challenges, and that efficiency is very important,” says Sina Haupt, Marketing Assistant of the DENSO Auto-ID Business Unit. “With our scanners and handheld terminals, employees in retail and logistics can save a lot of time and reduce costs – and that increases the efficiency.” Further information on the scanners and handheld terminals from DENSO, on RFID and NFC, the QR Code, solutions for mobile data capture, and the DENSO Auto-ID Business Unit can be accessed at www.denso-autoid-eu.com.

The new SE1-BUB-C is a pocket-size scanner that only weighs around 70 g. It can be conveniently stored and carried in one’s pocket all day long. The device for mobile data capture is equipped with modern RFID technology, and was designed specifically for scanning RFID tags at short distances. The optimal range for scanning is 3 cm. In addition, it prevents unintentional scanning of other RFID tags that are in close proximity. This new innovation for mobile data capture is compatible with iOS, Android™, and Windows®.

The BHT-1600 is equipped with modern NFC technology and is very compact in size. It is designed in the style of a personal digital assistant (PDA) with Android™ 6.X, and was recently introduced to the market. In the ruggedized version it is much more robust than comparable devices for mobile data capture on the market today. This is due, on the one hand, to the pre-installed protective cover, and on the other hand, to the shatterproof Dragontrail™ glass. Other key features of the new Android™ 6.X PDA scanner from DENSO are, besides its robustness, the fully integrated mobile data capture scanning engine, coupled with the support of all common standards of wireless communication such as Bluetooth, WiFi or 4G; all this combined with an attractive design, compact dimensions, and light weight body.

Furthermore, the BHT-1200 RFID will be presented when the experts for mobile data capture from DENSO, part of the Toyota group and inventor of the QR Code, showcase their innovative scanners and handheld terminals at the “RFID & Wireless iOT tomorrow 2017”. It is equipped with modern RFID technology that offers extremely high reading speeds, easy handling, robustness, and a long battery life of up to 60 hours. The handheld terminal is easy to operate thanks to its ergonomic pistol grip, and the Windows CE operating system has already proven its functionality many times due to its user-friendliness. In addition, the BHT-1200 RFID terminal, with its long-range capability, makes it easy to scan RFID tags up to five meters away.

Mobile data capture, mobile payment in combination with a smartphone or an app or even the analysis of individual shopping behaviours – the QK30-IC scanner is a real all-round talent. It will also be showcased at the “RFID & Wireless iOT tomorrow 2017”. The new scanner is equipped with modern NFC technology. This is based on the same core technology as RFID, but uses a lower frequency. As a fixed or built-in scanner, the QK30-IC can effortlessly read QR Codes on smart phone displays or even badly printed codes on paper labels. Another strong argument in favour of the QK30-IC scanner is its ability to read mobile coupons, mobile debit cards, and mobile tickets.
