MS billets are semi-finished steel blocks formed by casting molten steel into solid rectangular or square sections, later processed into finished products such as wire rods, ERW pipes, and structural bars. Renny Strips operates three induction furnaces with a combined melting capacity of 199,200 TPA, giving the company direct control over billet composition and quality before it enters downstream production.

Induction furnace technology, the company notes, allows for more precise control over melting temperature and material composition compared to older furnace methods, contributing to more consistent billet quality across production batches.

A company spokesperson said the billet stage is where the foundation for every finished product gets set, and that maintaining tight control at the furnace level is what allows the company to avoid quality variation further down the production chain.

The company's billet production also supports its sustainability positioning, backed by a 5-Star Green Steel Manufacturing Rating and a 22 MW captive solar power plant supplying close to 30% of its total energy requirement.
