  • (1888PressRelease) June 19, 2012 - Remington College of Nursing's accelerated Bachelor of Science of Nursing program is designed for those students who possess a bachelor's or higher degree but desire to make a career change to the field of nursing.

"Remington College of Nursing congratulates our BSN graduates and commends them on their commitment to the profession of nursing," said Karin Polifko, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, Vice President, Operations and Academic Affairs. "They are a dedicated group of students who will make a difference in the lives of others as they embark on their new health care careers."

The campus is located in Lake Mary, conveniently located and visible from I-4. Remington College of Nursing features modern classrooms and a clinical simulation laboratory, containing human patient simulators, mannequins and medical equipment, resembling a hospital environment. The goal is to simulate the same challenges in the classroom that students may face in a healthcare environment.

A positive clinical experience during school is critical to the success of any new graduate. Remington College of Nursing has developed relationships with more than a dozen health care facilities in the Orlando area to offer students opportunities to apply their problem-solving and decision-making clinical skills. Students have clinical experiences all three shifts as well as occasionally on the weekends. Examples of healthcare facilities in which students practice in include the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, the Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Children, South Seminole Hospital, Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, Orlando Regional Medical Center, Bert Fish Hospital, Central Florida Medical Center, University Behavioral Health and area health departments.i

"Our program is unique in that qualifying students who have a Bachelor of Science or Arts degree can earn their BSN degree in as few as 12 months," said Dr. Polifko. "Our program is for those individuals who are interested in changing their original career path with the ability to be intensely dedicated during this concentrated year. Our goal is help them enter the healthcare workforce in the shortest time possible, while still maintaining success on the National Council on State Boards of Nursing - Registered Nurse exam (NCLEX-RN). Our average 96% pass rate over the last three years illustrates our commitment to quality and developing excellent registered nurse candidates. While we cannot guarantee employment, we are aware of the nursing shortage in certain areas and our program provides graduates who, after passing the state licensure examination, can work as registered nurses in a variety of health care settings."

The Lake Mary Events Center is located at 260 North Country Club Road in Lake Mary.
