Dr. Parth Shah was the honorable director for the colloquium. It was organized between October 27 and October 29, 2012.

The colloquium, titled The Morality of Capitalism, was organized with the aim to apply liberal ideas to address challenges faced by India in the context of capitalism. The other objectives were to apply innovative liberal approaches in addressing various facets of capitalism and to challenge participants to examine, refine, and develop their own ideas by engaging with others interested in the same issues.

Among the noted attendees were Mrs. Shalini Wadhwa, Director Blinking Peacock Productions; Maria Schneider, Project Assistant South Asia Region, Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit; Dr. Nina Dey Gupta, Former Professor Faculty of Education, University of Delhi; Mr. Hemant Nitturkar, Founder, JUGNU and Mr. Jerry Johnson, Curator, TEDxChurchgate.

The discussions addressed six sub themes from pre selected readings, such as whether capitalism is merely efficient at producing goods and services, or is it also moral, and is it moral because it achieves the greatest good for the greatest number or because it protects each person's right to choose what to do with his or her own life. These issues and their bearing on the current scenario in India were discussed at length.
