  • Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) August 09, 2018 - In downtown Clearwater, on 15 September 2018 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, the Clearwater Community Volunteers will host an elegant Fashions with Flair fashion show in the auditorium of the beautiful and historic Fort Harrison owned by the Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization. Fashions from local boutique – Pippa Pelure will be on display.

    Since 2003, ladies of distinction have graced the “Fashions with Flair” stage. This year, models include: Margaret Word-Burnside, the publisher of Tampa Bay Magazine; Laura Jolly, the wife of former Congressman David Jolly; Susan Valdes, former Hillsborough County School Board member; Bahiyyah Sadiki, Pinellas County educator; Amy Ronshausen, the president of Drug Free America; Kendall Kirkham, the co-host for “Great Day Live” on WTSP-TV.

    The event provides a gourmet luncheon and a silent auction with items donated by local businesses. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Police Athletic League – Lealman Sports Complex and Winter Wonderland which is a 3 week holiday family festival which has served as a food and toy drive for 26 years.

    The Clearwater Community Volunteers, an organization, inspired by L. Ron Hubbard’s precept “Love and Help Children” from The Way to Happiness have been doing just that for 25 years. They have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Children’s Charities such as the Sheriff’s Youth Ranches, Nourish to Flourish Foundation and Shriners Hospital for Children Tampa and their events: Clearwater’s Winter Wonderland and Ginormous Easter Egg Hunt have provided fun-filled family activities for thousands.

    Fashions with Flair
    The Annual Fashions with Flair Fashion Show & Auction fundraiser was first held by the Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV) in 2003 at the Belleair Country Club. In 2010 the show moved to the beautifully restored Fort Harrison auditorium owned by the Church of Scientology. Around 300-500 people attend each year from the greater Tampa Bay area. The event includes an auction that has something for everyone – celebrity items, jewelry, baked goods, fine art, dinners at prestigious restaurants and many valuable gift certificates.
