    About www.agirlstory.org

A Girl Story.org was created to augment awareness on the plight of the underprivileged girl child in India. The website tells a story that unfolds through a series of scenes in an underprivileged girl's life named Tarla. A Girl Story.org is a donation based YouTube film series which unravels Tarla's story which progresses only by audience donations unlocking new chapters, which is similar to reality where each girl at Project Nanhi Kali depends on donors to progress, stay in school, and complete her education.

If the viewers choose to donate, her story will seamlessly progress to the next film and she'll get one step closer to her dream. If viewers do not donate, her story ends there. Like in real life, she is stuck - yet another victim of her circumstances. It was imperative to ensure that people would return to the site and continue to participate, so Tarla sent personal emails updating them on her progress and thanking them for their donations. They were also invited to friend her on Facebook and read her tweets.

www.the-girl-store.org is an innovative website created by StrawberryFrog for Nanhi Kali. It allows the viewer to sponsor the supplies that allow an underprivileged girl in India to go to school and get an education. The Girl Store operates like an e-commerce site. The site asks visitors to a buy a girl her life back by donating school materials to underprivileged girls in India. Visitors can scroll through a gallery of girls (the images are models) and choose who to purchase shoes, a uniform, pencils, or books for.

When all of the items a girl needs in order to be allowed to attend school are purchased, the site displays an "off to school" label over her image. The website not only puts the issue of uneducated girls being most vulnerable to exploitation and trafficking up front, but also provides the viewer with a solution to join the fight against it by sponsoring the education of young girls.
