  • (1888PressRelease) February 09, 2020 - ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – The DB Media Entertainment creative team of Michael Guerra and D.R. Pedraza announce the beginning of production for The Route 66 Interviews: Foodies who Rock!!! which will begin filming in Albuquerque, New Mexico in April 2020. This is the second show for the duo after playing a big role in the creation and production of the successful YouTube show Slate Me! TV which ran for three seasons from late 2015 through 2017.

Foodies Who Rock!!! is a groundbreaking show surrounding one key ingredient...food. “We feel that food is a very personal thing,” said show co-creator D.R. Pedraza. “It reflects who we are as people, where we come from and sometimes, unveils a long-held family tradition. Our guests will reveal and then recreate their favorite dish growing up while answering those famous five questions; what, why, where, when and who.” "When I was discussing the show with a potential guest, a Best-Selling Author, she became so emotional just talking about the dish she would make, I knew we were on to something,” Pedraza said. “It's all about the love of food and family.”

One unique aspect of the “Finding Your Roots/Lidia's Italy” show combination is that the production will be shot outdoors. “I wanted to showcase my new home State of New Mexico and the Albuquerque/Santa Fe area in particular as this is our first production after splitting the company and moving the film department here,” Pedraza said. The Music department, managed by company co-creator Michael Guerra remains in San Antonio, the companies birthplace. “We had other projects we were trying to get going upon moving here in late 2017,” Pedraza said, “but we realized we were just trying to start too big.”

The show idea is one they had been knocking around for a few years back in San Antonio before the split, but it wasn't until Pedraza, in his “day job,” befriended Executive Chef Crews Brandhorst that the idea began to take shape. “After a few months of knowing him,” Pedraza said “I broached the idea with him and he immediately caught on to the vision. A couple of months later and we're booking guests.” The show will be hosted by newcomer Emily Rose Hernandez, who will also produce her own segment on businesses along the historic Route 66.

The team plans to use the same techniques that brought Grammy Award-winning artists, best selling authors and Academy Award winners to their show Slate Me!; reach out to your friends and make new ones. “Michael and I are blessed in that we have a large network of friends and creatives covering both film and music that get what we do and always want to help,” Pedraza said. As for reaching out, the show has already snagged a recent television star and winner of one of the major network's recent 2019 talent contests. “We are just super excited to bring talent of that caliber to the show and make a new friend to boot. I can't wait to reveal just who it is,” Pedraza said.

The show will film in New Mexico by San Antonio/Albuquerque based DB Media Entertainment which is co-owned by Michael Guerra and D.R. Pedraza. Other Executive Producers include long time producing partner Denise Brockbank and Benny and Kim Gonzalez of New Mexico. DB Media is currently celebrating it's 12-anniversary producing film, television, music and literary pieces.
