  • (1888PressRelease) October 12, 2011 - Apex, NC - As presenting sponsor of the Cary Junior Woman's Club's 3rd Annual "Uncork For A Cause" event, renowned Mid-Atlantic homebuilding industry leader HHHunt Homes joined in the effort to enrich the lives of special needs individuals. Proceeds from the popular wine-tasting event benefited the Horse & Buddy Therapeutic Riding Program.

From 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday, October 7, event participants of "Uncork For a Cause" sampled a featured selection of eco-friendly wines by Sip at the beautiful Halle Cultural Arts Center in Historic Downtown Apex. The Cary Dinner Fairy served delicious, seasonal food accompaniments. Guests also enjoyed live music by the Carolina Island Boys, as well as an exciting silent auction and raffle.

"Horse & Buddy is a wonderful and worthy organization that deserves generous support from the communities it serves," said Amber King, regional marketing director for HHHunt Homes. "It's a tremendous undertaking to operate a non-profit that must maintain land, equipment and large-animal care in order to provide valuable services to our special needs citizens. This type of program requires a lot of work, compassion and financial support to be successful. HHHunt Homes was proud to sponsor a great event benefiting such a great organization."

The Horse & Buddy Therapeutic Riding Program enables special needs individuals to improve mobility, balance, muscle tone, motor skills and self-esteem through equine-assisted activities and therapies. Members participate in the riding program every Monday and Saturday. Horse & Buddy is a member of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.), formerly the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA). Its future organizational goals include becoming a premier, accredited center.

"The Cary Junior Woman's Club is highly regarded and appreciated for its phenomenal outreach and fundraising programs," King said. "Its dedication to volunteer service is a perfect match for Horse & Buddy. Events such as "Uncork For a Cause" have a real purpose, are memorable, and are always great fun."
