  • (1888PressRelease) September 18, 2012 - White Plains, New York - An "All Star" cast of prominent Westchester women, corporate leaders, fashion designers, and philanthropists will celebrate inspiring local girls at the Power of the Purse on Wednesday, October 25, 2012.

    Hosted by Girls Inc. of Westchester at "Life: The Place to Be" in Ardsley, the annual event will honor nine Strong, Smart and Bold "Purse-O-Nalities" -distinguished Westchester women committed to creating a brighter future for underserved girls. Black Enterprise and BET's Caroline Clarke will serve as Master of Ceremonies, and nine outstanding young ambassadors, testimony to the "Power of the Purse" to transform lives, will model one-of-a-kind handbags created by popular designers to reflect the unique personalities of the celebrity honorees. The bags will be auctioned during the evening.

    "The event is a unique opportunity for concerned individuals to 'open their purse strings' and invest in future generations of young women in need," said Sally Baker, Girls Inc. Executive Director. "Girls Inc. encourages girls to believe in themselves-that they matter. Through our programs we strive to give them the tools, knowledge and support to realize their dreams," Ms. Baker said.     Tickets to the 5:30-9:00 PM event include cocktails and dinner, a live and silent auction
    Individual Tickets: $200
    Sponsorships: $1,000, $1,500, $2,500, $5,000 $10,000 $15,000 and $25,000.

    Ads in the evening's program are: $100, $500, $250, $500, $1,000 and $1,500. Deadline: October 16.
