Poole Alcock Raises £1,000 for St Luke's Hospice
Poole Alcock LLP, professional, qualified and experienced solicitors in Chester, have raised £1,000 for St Luke's Hospice, Winsford, through completing 2,012 miles of sport in 10 weeks.
- (1888PressRelease) September 13, 2012 - Cheshire, United Kingdom - The Cheshire law firm decided to set a sporting challenge for itself this year to raise funds for a local hospice, and, between the end of May and 12th August 2012, Poole Alcock staff members pledged to undergo 2,012 miles of sport in 10 weeks; this averaged out at marginally less than 202 miles of activity per week.
The £1,000 raised in sponsorships will go towards covering the cost of patients' assessment and symptom control in the respite and terminal care units at St Luke's Hospice. The Hospice costs £6,425 a day to run, and relies entirely on the fundraising of volunteers and corporate support in order to facilitate these costs.
Anna Burns, Solicitor at Poole Alcock, commented: "Staff members were extremely creative with their miles of sport and took part in a variety of activities, including horse riding, running, cycling, mountain biking, swimming, rowing and canoeing.
