  • (1888PressRelease) August 12, 2014 - You've heard the expression, "a picture is worth a thousand words," but what's a video worth? According to a study from Forrester Research, one minute of video is worth 1.8 million words! That's why Greater Philadelphia Oral Surgery in Elkins Park, PA has taken their patient-focused website to the next level by featuring informational videos and patient testimonials that stream directly from the site.

The newly launched site at www.greaterphiladelphiaoralsurgery.com provides visitors with heartfelt stories from past patients describing their experiences during the surgical procedures Doctors Robert Mogyoros and Mark Funt perform every day at the practice. These include everything from dental implants and wisdom tooth extractions to oral pathology and bone grafting.

"It's important for patients to understand everything that is involved in an oral surgery procedure," said Robert Mogyoros, DMD, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Greater Philadelphia Oral Surgery. "Rather than directing patients to a web page with just content, and expecting them to read and understand all the information, we share real-life experiences from past patients in quick, easy-to-watch videos that will leave a lasting impression."

For patients that require a detailed description of exactly what to do prior to and following surgery, the new website is equipped with both pre-operative and post-operative instructional guides that outline every facet.

"The ultimate goal of our new website is to provide both current and prospective patients with all the information they need to feel comfortable and secure about their procedure," said Mark Funt, DMD, of Greater Philadelphia Oral Surgery. "Our experience has taught us that patients often feel anxious about having surgery if they don't know what to expect, so we take every measure to ensure they are informed, well taken care of, and regularly contacted so every question is answered."

Patients seeking information about dental implants, gum and jaw bone treatments, crown lengthening or dental emergencies can visit the website and access information - both in written form and directly from the patients who underwent that particular surgery. "It's important for patients to understand that coming to an oral surgeon for these types of procedures is the best option so they receive the right type of treatment," said Mogyoros. "Dr. Funt and I have the education and experience to properly sedate the patient and take every precaution to ensure an easy, comfortable surgery and recovery process."

Equipped with their new website, the doctors and staff at Greater Philadelphia Oral Surgery strive to provide the highest level of patient-centered care to those in need of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
