  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) April 29, 2013 - In Andrea Henderson's pixelated visions, sunny waterside glades, tangled twigs and roots, bark covered in lichen and moss, and brightly raucous explosions of blooms and foliage become vibrant meditations, sparkling with a lively vigor and joy. The energy and movement of weather and the sparkling patterns made by light give inspiration to Henderson's vision of the experience of nature, as discovered while on a walking holiday in England through the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. As she creates her highly detailed and imaginatively expressive landscapes and garden studies, the artist reflects on the dazzling complexity of the natural world. She builds up her large scale works in multiple layers, using oil paint on canvas board and smooth brushstrokes to fragment an intensely intricate maze of color and tone.

Andrea Henderson completed Art at Tertiary Entrance Admissions level but is mainly self-taught as an artist. Exhibiting widely both in her native Australia and throughout the United States, she has received many awards and recognitions for her art in recent years.
